Our wonderful " Kona" was diagnosed with a melanoma in her right eye two years ago. It was discovered while she was under anesthesia during an orthopedic procedure by our local vet. We were immediately referred to Dr. Heather Low in Boise and went there as soon as possible in a raging snowstorm. We were devastated with this news and fearful of what lay in store for our wonderful companion. Nothing could have been more welcome and reassuring than to find our selves and "Kona" in Dr. Low's care and for the last two years "Kona" has been able to maintain a stable situation with the superb treatment and monitoring that Dr. Low has given her. Now that Dr. Low has moved to Bend we are definitely going continue to receive advice and be able to have our local vet correspond with her and if need be we will go to Bend!
Anyone in your area is beyond fortunate in having Dr. Low's practice available to you; we envy her patients and wish her well.
With great admiration for an outstanding woman in her field,

Dr. Low and her entire staff are a team of miracle workers.  They have treated Max as if he was one of their own from the original screening to surgery and during his follow-ups.  Max became blind as a result of diabetes and this investment was worth every penny to have our “old Max” back.  Thank you team AES!

Dr. Low and Lisa are so wonderful to work with. Every time I bring in one of my Pug babies to see them they are always so welcoming and put my dogs right at ease. A few of them don’t want to leave!

Dr. Low takes her time examining my dogs eyes and thoroughly explains everything, I never feel like the appointment is rushed. When I leave the office I always feel like we are on the same page with a clear plan of managing the problem at hand.

Bandit was referred to Animal Eye Specialists and was diagnosed with a large, infected, corneal ulcer. We could not bear to look at his swollen, infected, red eye. Dr. Low recommended aggressive treatment. At one point Bandit's eye was so bad that we asked Dr. Low if it was time to schedule removal of the eye. She said, "Not so fast, I don't think we are at that point yet." We were very relieved to hear that, after bracing ourselves for possible removal of the eye, we weren't going to have do it. I followed Dr. Low's treatment schedule exactly. It took some time, but the results were incredible and well worth the effort.

I have taken many patients to
AES because I volunteer at a no-kill cat rescue shelter. In fact, Bandit was a rescue cat when he first came to see Dr. Low. Per Dr. Low's precise instructions, I foster and treat eye patients at the rescue shelter with numerous success stories. We have complete trust and confidence in Dr. Heather Low and Lisa Horsfall, CVT, and are so lucky to have Animal Eye Specialists in our area. I very highly recommend them and truly believe that so many of these excellent outcomes would not be possible without the expertise of Dr. Low and the folks at AES.

My husband and I eventually adopted Bandit and named him Capeaux.

Our first encounter with Dr. Heather Low and her technician, Lisa, was almost 2 years ago when our primary veterinarian recommended acupuncture and hydrotherapy for our Great Dane. The last disc on his spine had been injured in a fall. The weekly treatments with Dr. Low kept him more limber and comfortable and helped prevent his nerves from pinching in his spine.

Our second Great Dane was born with multiple birth defects. At age one he developed Wobbler"s Syndrome. Dr. Low was able to help stabilize his legs with acupuncture treatment and help improve the digestive problems he was born with. Presently, our third Dane is receiving acupuncture to promote healing and to control pain while recovering from leg surgery.

Dr. Low and Lisa are incredibly compassionate and caring people. Their main concern is the health, comfort, and happiness of each of their patients. My husband and I have been so pleased with the care our three dogs have received. We believe our first Dane was given an extra year of life because of Dr. Low.

Dr. Low performed a Snip and Freeze Surgery on our Vizsla Zeke three months have passed and Zeke has healed extremely well and the surgery site is barely visible, he went through the procedure with flying colors. We are so grateful for Dr. Low and her teams care and compassion with our best friend. I wouldn't hesitate using AES services again (although I hope I never need to!) or recommending to our friends.
